Precautions

  • Do not keep medicines with the patient. Medicines are to be administered by people in the household following the specified time schedule.
  • Under no circumstances can medicines be stopped without consent of the doctor. Seek doctor's advice while keeping the patient on the drug.
  • The patient has to be kept away from all addictions.
  • In case of any physical problem, consult a nearby physician. His medicines can be confined with neurological medicines (according to the physician's advice).
  • If any patient has suicidal tendency, He or She should not be allowed to stay alone & the doctor should be immediately informed. The patient has to be admitted to a public hospital or a private psychiatric nursing home.
  • The patient and family members should know the side effects of the mental illness. If any allergy or rash develops after taking a drug, stop the drug and consult the doctor Immediately.
  • In case of any inconvenience before the next visit to the doctor, report to the doctor in his chamber along with prescription.
  • In case of a female , it is not advisable to get pregnant while taking psychiatric drugs. Because it may have adverse effects on the foetus. A baby should not be breastfed while the mother is on such drugs.
  • While showing the patient to the doctor, a relative staying with him in the same house sholud accompany.
  • Diagnostic tests or investigations advised in the prescription should be done properly.


In case of any of the following symptoms contact your nearest neurologist

  • Convulsive seizures of fits falling unconscious trembling of limbs & neck.
  • Depression despondency falling off restlessness disinclination to talk and work , suicidal tendency .
  • Anxiety tension irritation palpitation profuse sweating difficulty in breathing, fear without reason.
  • To adjust and adapt to family life and workplace.
  • Difficulty in sleeping loss of appetite forgetfulness and long lasting stomach disorders ( acidity & flatulence ) and constipation.
  • Excitement, violence, anger, excessive, suspicions ness, talking nonsense, very low food intake, talking to self or laughing or crying, zero bodycare, getting immobile. bragging beyond ability excessive talking, irrational unreasonable deep rooted beliefs.
  • Ritualistic habit of repetitive washing and checking, coming of same thoughts to mind without resson.
  • Addiction to alcohol, opium, heroin etc.
  • Loss of memory and change in behaviour with age.
  • Any kind of sexual problem.
  • If your child talks longer time to leaves to sit, stand and walk if you feel that the intelligence of your child is less compared to other kids of his / her age.
  • If your kid cannot concentration anything.
  • If a child lies frequently.
  • If a child has a tendency to steal.
  • It a child breaks things on excitement and anger and assaults other kids.
  • If your child is afraid of going to school.
  • If your child cannot mix with children of his / her. Remains silent compared to other kids.
