Participated in the CINP-AsCNP 2025, Joint Congress, 36th World Congress of Neuropsychopharmacology, 9th AsCNP Meeting on June 15-18, Melbourne. I delivered a talk and presented a poster during the event. The conference was rich in academic content and provided valuable insights into biological and psychopharmacological issues.
Had a productive evening on 8th June 2025 with my colleagues from Bardhaman who are mostly psychiatrists. Dr. Sumanta Dawn delivered an insightful presentation on Aripripazole. Many thanks to Aquila, a division of Intas Pharma, for coordinating the event.
On 19th May, 2025 a top-notch scientific program on the management of OCD took place at Park Hotel in Kolkata. The keynote speaker was Prof. Joseph Zohar, with the session being moderated by senior psychiatrist Dr. Ashit Sheth. I shared my clinical experience with Fluvoxamine in the Indian context, while Dr. Abir Mukherjee discussed Managing OCD with Psychiatric Comorbidities. The session was chaired by Dr. Prabir Paul, and the interactive session was truly engaging. Special thanks to ABBOTT for organizing such an outstanding program.
On the 9th of May, I had the privilege of participating as one of the esteemed panelists in a scientific program focusing on "Integrating Sleep-Wake Mechanisms, Neuropsychiatric Disorders, and Metabolic Dysregulation: A Novel Approach to Therapeutic Innovation." It was truly enlightening to hear from our keynote speaker, Dr. Phyllis Zee, former President of the World Sleep Society. The event was attended by approximately 120 neurologists and psychiatrists. Special thanks to Eisai Pharmaceuticals, India for coordinating such a superb program.
I have attended Mid-Term CME 2025 of Indian Association for Geriatric Mental Health organized at Srinagar in Kashmir. I am the immediate past president of this organization. I had the privilege of co-chairing a session with my brother, Dr. Abdul Majid, at the Midterm CME of the Indian Association for Geriatric Mental Health (IAGMH) in Srinagar. The distinguished speakers for the session were Dr. Sagarika Bhattacharyya and our esteemed colleague, Dr. G. Prasad Rao.
It was a truly remarkable experience to participate in the midterm CME of IAPP in Bhopal on the 26th and 27th of April 2025. I would like to commend Dr. Samiksha Sahu, Dr. R. N. Sahu, and the Bhopal team for their excellent organization of the event.
I thoroughly enjoyed attending the Inaugural Indian National Conference of Dynamic Psychiatry in Nagpur on April 12, 2025. It was a great privilege to chair alongside Dr. Shashi Roy during the presidential address given by Dr. Roy Abraham. I extend my gratitude to my esteemed colleagues Dr. Vivek Kirpekar, Dr. Sudhir Bhave, Dr. Manish Thakre, Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, and the entire Nagpur team.
Being invited as the GUEST OF HONOUR at the event commemorating World Autism Awareness Day 2025, organized by AIIMS Kalyani, was truly an exceptional experience. Our esteemed IPS President, Prof Savita Malhotra, delivered a compelling speech on the Role of AI in Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Her presentation was nothing short of brilliant. Additionally, Prof Kalyan Goswami, the Dean of the Institution, graced the inaugural session with his presence. It was a moment of immense pride for me, considering Kalyan is my younger brother, and we both graduated from the esteemed NORTH BENGAL MEDICAL COLLEGE. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Prof Sukanta Sarkar, Dr Rina, Dr Aniruddha Basu, and the entire team at AIIMS Kalyani for this honor.
I was invited to deliver the prestigious Dr Mrs Dhanalakshmi De Sousa and Prof Dr Alan De Sousa Oration lectures in Mumbai on 9th March 2025.I look forward to delivering the Oration on “Mental Health Care in Diabetes, exploring critical aspects of treatment and referral.
