Me and Dr. Debanjan Banerjee delivered a presentation in an Invited Symposium on "Psychogeriatric services in the SAARC region - Present & Future" at the Annual Conference of the International Psychogeriatric Association (IPA) in Lisbon.
20th Annual Academic Sessions of the Sri Lanka College of Psychiatrists 2023 was held in Colombo,Sri Lanka where I was invited as Guest of honor in the inauguration ceremony. Dr. Subodh Dave, Dean of Royal college of Psychiatry was also there as Guest of Honor. Chief Guest was Dr Keheliya Rambukwella, Minister of Health, Sri Lanka. Kudos to Dr. Kapila Ranasinghe, President, Sri Lanka College of Psychiatrists, Dr. Sayuri Perera, Secretary, Sri Lanka College of Psychiatrists and full organizing committee for organizing such an excellent event. Bangladesh Association of Psychiatrists (BAP) invited me to an wonderful online program of observation of World Schizophrenia Day as Chief Guest on 24th May, 2023 It was really wonderful and regards to Dr Brig Azizul Islam (President, BAP) and Dr. Tariqul Islam (Hon Secretary, BAP) and all distinguished members of BAP.
It’s really great moments for me that I shared the podium of the opening ceremony of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Annual Meeting in consecutive two years (2022 & 2023) as President of SAARC Psychiatric Federation (SPF). Thanks to Saul Levin, CEO of APA and Rebecca Brendel, outgoing President of APA. This time Dr. Vinay Kumar, President of Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) was with me on the dias.
On 6th May I have received Award in recognition of our valuable support on behalf of SAARC Psychiatric Federation in WPA Thematic Congress held in Abu Dhabi. Also I had presentation on “ Psychopharmacology in children and adolescents as Keynote speaker“ in WPA Thematic Congress , Abu Dhabi.
On 24th March, 2023 visited Kathmandu to attend a programme organised by Psychiatrists Association of Nepal, I have delivered a lecture on “Antidepressants beyond SSRIs“. A public awareness programme on the topic "Internet Addiction" was organized in IMA Barasat Barasat Branch. I have given a talk about the addiction and elaborated many aspects of it along with Dr. Tirthankar Dasgupta. The programme was presided over by the IMA Barasat President Dr. Tapan Kumar Biswas. I have attended BIMACON 2023 (Annual conference of Indian Medical Association, Bengal State Branch) at Stadel Hotel, Kolkata where our own Barasat IMA Branch was announced as the best branch.
